It’s not often that you’ll find the words ‘fashion’ and ‘technology’ in the same sentence, but when it comes to Dot Matrix Watches it’s unavoidable. So deliciously designed that they’re almost edible (despite missing many of your RDA vitamins), these leather wristband watches are studded with a matrix of black LEDs that, at the touch of a button, do a funky kind of Mexican wave scroll effect and then display the time in classic Dot Matrix style - and a second press will display the date. Available in tan leather with yellow lights, or black leather with red lights, the Dot Matrix’s can display both 24hr and 12hr time, and has a built-in power saving mode, so the time or date is automatically switched off after three seconds. They may be low in calories, but these leather strapped Dot Matrix watches are exceedingly high in style.

Sure, there are already jackets designed to include integrated controls for your audio player, cellphone andother devices. And some of them even look better than the KnowWhere jacket from Germany’s Interactive Wear (which, face it, isn’t exactly hard). But how many of them have anintegrated GPS unit that can phone home with realtime tracking data? We assume the point of including the epaulet-basedGPS unit in the jacket is either to allow an employer or parent to track the jacket’s wearer without forcing her tocarry a separate GPS device. However, we can’t help but think that once the wearer knows he’s being tracked, he mayjust “forget” the jacket somewhere, even if that means giving up that swanky integrated phone and MP3player.
